Ala-Mändiku honeycomb pine – one of the few remaining honeycomb pines in Estonia grows on the land of Ala-Mändiku farm in Karula National Park. It is a pine-tree, hollowed by man, in which bees were kept. The information paper issued by the Administration of Karula National Park got its name from the rare tree, in Estonian it is called Tarupettäi.
